The Nutrient Management Adviser Certification Programme has been established to certify nutrient management advisers in New Zealand.
The goal of the programme is to build and uphold a transparent set of industry standards and on-going professional development for nutrient management advisers to meet so they provide nationally consistent advice of the highest standard to farmers.
To achieve certification, advisers need to have successfully completed the Intermediate and Advanced courses in Sustainable Nutrient Management in New Zealand Agriculture and to have demonstrated that their skills and knowledge meet required standards through a competency assessment.
To maintain certification, a nutrient management adviser must have provided nutrient management advice to farmers for at least five years and undertake 15 hours of continuing professional development each year.
A current list of certified advisers can be found on the Nutrient Management Adviser Certification Programme’s website.
