What is the NZFAP Programme about?
The New Zealand Farm Assurance Programme provides confidence and certainty to consumers that meat and wool produced here in New Zealand is authentic, genuine and of course safe. Ravensdown Environmental are now an associate member of the NZFAP Plus Farm Assurance Programme. We are working with proactive farmers to help them gain the NZFAP Plus accreditation.
What does gaining the NZFAP Plus accreditation mean for you?
- As an industry standard, some meat and wool processors offer premiums on your product.
- The accreditation covers a number of meat and wool processors and for that reason you will only need one audit for multiple processors, which will save you time and money

What is NZFAP Plus?
The New Zealand Farm Assurance Programme (NZFAP) is a national standard for Kiwi red meat and wool farms.
It gives consumers around the world the confidence that a farm’s products meet high standards of traceability, food safety, and animal welfare.
The NZFAP Plus programme builds on those foundations, with three extra elements:
- People
- Environment
- Biosecurity

How does NZFAP Plus work?
NZFAP Plus has two certification levels; Silver and Gold.
Silver establishes the foundations of an environmental plan, while Gold puts the plan into action.
To gain NZFAP Plus accreditation, farms need to complete NZFAP re-certification at the same time.

What does Ravensdown Environmental do?
We support farmers with farm planning, FEPs, nutrient modelling, OverseerFM budgets, greenhouse gas and climate planning, Hawkeye mapping, waterway assessments, and preparation for programmes like NZFAP Plus.
We make the process practical and achievable using existing farm data and guided support through to audit.
