Important Information

  • BENEFITS

Providing potassium to crops sensitive to chloride and salt

Contains a low salt index helping to avoid the plant taking up excess water

Mixes well with all other fertilisers

This product is mainly used for high value horticultural crop production where the extra benefits of low salt index and sulphate supply offset the higher cost compared to Potassium Chloride. This product is ideal for crops sensitive to chloride and to salt. A low salt index also avoids the plant taking up excess water, thus potentially improving the plants' resistance to disease.

  • USES

Sulphate of Potash - Granular is ideal for providing potassium to crops sensitive to chloride and salt e.g. tomatoes, avocados, lettuce, melons, french beans, tobacco, citrus, kiwifruit, raspberries and strawberries.

  • APPLICATION

Actual spreading rates will vary according to farm type, climate, productivity and soil type.  Soil testing and fertiliser plans are available to ensure you use the right product at the correct rate. Call our Customer Centre for information.

As with most solid fertilisers, Potassium Sulphate can be stored over a season as long as it is kept in a cool, dry, well ventilated area.
Sulphate of Potash - Granular is manufactured via the Mannheim process, where potassium chloride and sulphuric acid is combined in a furnace heated to around 800 C.
