The biggest impact Ravensdown can have on sustainability is through our purchasing decisions and supply chain. As part of our sustainable procurement programme, we assess sustainability criteria within Ravensdown new supplier evaluations. We captured information on pre-existing suppliers through a sustainability survey. The inclusion of this criteria signals to suppliers the rising importance of sustainability provides information about their credentials in this area, allows us to recognise good performance, stimulates sustainability conversations and shows sustainability to be one of Ravensdown’s core values. Our expectations are clearly outlined in our Supplier Code of Conduct. We recognise that our suppliers are at various points on this journey and that success will require working together to raise the bar. For some, sustainability is something that they will begin working on as a result of pressure from customers, but for others, this has been a focus for some time and they are enthusiastic to share their achievements to date with us.
