Every member of Ravensdown staff is granted a day per year to spend on volunteering for a community group or cause that is meaningful to them.  Over the past two years, this has resulted in 568 hours of assistance to 30 community groups of a wide range.  Some teams choose to make this a team exercise and in the last year, this included cooking dinner for families at Ronald Macdonald House, restoration of the Lyttelton Port Saddle habitat in partnership with an important supply partner, Lyttelton Port Company, and planting of over 1000 native trees on a dairy farm on the banks of the Rakaia River as part of an eight-year plan to improve river ecology, provide habitat, bind the soil and absorb carbon dioxide.
