Product Storage and Despatch Plant

Two despatch plants prepare fertiliser for sale. The plants handle superphosphate and all imported fertilisers either singly or blended to the customers requirements.

Fertilisers are stored in dedicated buildings that are either totally enclosed, apart from doorways providing access, or semi-enclosed whereby one long side of the building is open.

All fertilisers are recovered from covered storage by front-end loader and transferred to a feed hopper at a despatch plant. The “A” Despatch Plant has three primary feed hoppers to provide for the blending of the fertilisers together with a number of secondary feed hoppers for the addition of small amounts of trace elements.  The “B” Despatch Plant has two primary feed hoppers.

The fertiliser is screened to remove oversize material, which is subsequently broken up and returned to the screen. The screened fertiliser may be stored in overhead bins for immediate loading onto road vehicles or for bagging.  Alternatively, the screened fertiliser may be stored in ground level bunkers for subsequent loading into road vehicles by front end loader.
