Nominations Open: Director Elections 2024

Share:

Nominations for the 2024 Ravensdown Director elections are open from 1 July until Friday 26 July 2024 at 5pm.

Shareholders have the opportunity to nominate and elect two directors to the Ravensdown Board – one in the North Island and one in the South Island.

In the South Island, Pete Moynihan will retire from the Board after serving as a Ravensdown director for 11 years.  As the maximum tenure for a Ravensdown director is 12 years, Pete will not stand for re-election.

In the North Island, current Chair of the Ravensdown Board, Bruce Wills, retires at the end of his three-year term and intends to stand for re-election.

Full details for Director Candidates including the nomination process, timetable and links to online nomination forms are available in the Director Election Candidate Information Handbook:

Additional options for Director candidate presentation in 2024

This year Ravensdown has increased the number of ways Director candidates can present themselves to shareholders.

In addition to a compulsory candidate profile statement, candidates will have the option of preparing a video statement and undergoing a review by Propero.

Where candidates opt for the Propero review, they will be contacted by Propero shortly after their nomination is confirmed by Ravensdown. Propero will review each candidate and prepare a one-page summary of key skills and experience related to their core governance attributes.

Propero will also provide a simple ‘letter scale’ indication of each candidate’s aptitude in the relevant core governance attributes to allow comparison between candidates.

Where candidates opt to prepare a video, a Ravensdown representative will be in contact with them to set up a time to record the video via the Microsoft Teams platform. The video can be up to 4 minutes long.

Please contact the election helpline 0800 666 038 or email iro@electionz.com with any queries.

2024 Director Election areas

In 2023 the election director area boundaries were changed to better reflect the national scale of the issues facing the co-operative and the wider agricultural sector.

Six director election areas became a single North Island Director Area and a single South Island Director Area.  This means there will be three directors elected in each of the North Island Director Area and South Island Director Area.

The change means shareholder-elected directors will be nominated and elected by a wider pool of shareholders. There is no change to the number of shareholder-elected directors on the Ravensdown Board.
