    Soil acidification is a natural result of pastoral farming, and these acidic soils can be detrimental to plant growth. For optimal plant growth, your soil pH should sit somewhere between 5.8 and 6.0. Applying lime will increase the pH of your soil, typically taking around one tonne per hectare to increase soil pH by 0.1 units.
