Stock only available ex Hornby Works (Christchurch site)
Following the 2018 fire at Hornby Works, we now have a significant tonnage of Potassium Chloride (Potash) that is showing some reduced granular strength due to water damage. While the chemical analysis and current moisture levels are within our normal quality specifications, the reduced granular strength can lead to increased finer particles.
The product is also clear from any obvious fire related impurities and has been exposed to water following fire damage to the storage shed in October. As a consequence the product is lacking some granular strength. While the chemical analysis (KCl) and current moisture levels are within our normal quality specifications, the reduced granular strength means it is prone to increased finer particles. The product has been screened for any obvious fire related impurities.
Given the potential for a smaller average granule size due to reduced granular strength of the Potash, we recommend you consider a reduced spreading width.
To reflect this quality difference, we are discounting Potash fire stock by 20% ($132/per tonne) for sale either as a direct line or as a mix into our Pot Super range ex our Hornby store only and while stocks last.
This is a strictly limited offer, while stocks last and for immediate pick up ex Hornby store only. The fixed price offer is the DD price, including mixing fee but excludes $3/t Hornby store charge.
In addition, we are offering deferred terms (interest free) until 20 May 2019 to allow you to bring forward your normal autumn applications.
*All purchases of Fire Stock Potash will contribute to your total rebatable tonnage.
Fixed price offer (DD price quoted as of 22 January, 2019). Prices include mixing fees but exclude $3 per tonne store charge.

Potash quality based on lab report.
- Insufficient moisture change to see a difference in K analysis, with all samples over the 50% Fertmark declaration
- The fire stock has had some break down of particles increasing the percentage of fine material under 1 mm in particle size
Handling increases the risk of the percentage of fines lifting. Current testing indicates an average 1.8% of fines with the worst being 4.8% ex Hornby store. - The fire has not resulted in impurities in the potash
